Why would you use a Cloning service?
Many Ford vehicles manufactured from 2009 onwards have had reliability issues with BCM and ECU modules. Mostly, this occurs due to water ingress but some have been known to just simply fail from either a bad jump start or poor manufacturing.
Symptoms of a bad BCM are commonly, failing or intermittent external road lights, difficulty starting due to immobiliser active, failing exterior mirror control or issues controlling the electric windows or windscreen wipers.​
But why clone them?
When a faulty BCM or ECU has been identified programming a new BCM or ECU to a Ford vehicle can be an expensive and time consuming process usually requiring the vehicle to be recovered to a workshop. Both modules are matched to the vehicle using its Vehicle identification number or VIN number and as such it is not a DIY process as it requires specialist software as well as needing the keys to be re-matched to the vehicle.
By cloning the BCM or ECU the vehicle does not see any difference when the new module is fitted back into the vehicle and is usually a plug and play process saving time and cost.
